Why you should keep exercising!
With the Coronavirus outbreak, it would be easy to put your health & fitness on the back burner until it clears.
But who knows how long that will be?
Every day new cases emerge and the Government announces a new action plan.
We can not avoid this, we can only control what WE can and and minimise our our risk and exposure to the virus.
I wanted to remind you all again that I have management strategies in place to help minimise the risk to us all and will adapt them as necessary following Government advice and the Exercise Associations guidelines and advice.
But in the meantime here are some GREAT reasons why you should start exercising, why you should continue to exercise and why you should love exercising!!!
Exercise and your immunity!
We all know the benefits of exercise to keep loving it & its benefits!
You feel good, happy, joyful, strong, confident, powerful – the list could go on!
But exercise is just not for weight loss, toning, strength and fitness but also for helping us decrease our chances of developing other illness/complications.
Another boost & “air high 5” for exercise is it potential to help increase our immunity, which right now is high on list of things to do and to know how to do!
There is still uncertainty as to the why & how this works but there are several theories such as:
✅Physical activity may help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways. This may reduce your chance of getting a cold, flu, or other illness.
✅ Exercise causes change in antibodies and white blood cells (WBC). WBCs are the body’s immune system cells that fight disease. These antibodies or WBCs circulate more rapidly, so they could detect illnesses earlier than they might have before. However, no one knows whether these changes help prevent infections.
✅ The brief rise in body temperature during and right after exercise may prevent bacteria from growing. This temperature rise may help the body fight infection better. (This is similar to what happens when you have a fever.)
✅Exercise slows down the release of stress hormones. Some stress increases the chance of illness. Lower stress hormones may protect against illness.
Exercise is amazing – it makes you feel & look amazing! It gives you energy, it helps you feel more confident, gives you “power” – so you can get through all the things life throws your way! – Stay strong ladies & believe in yourself & your own personal strength!
Do not let this disruption (I know it is scary), throw you off track or take away what is important to you!
Find an exercise that you love, walking, running, circuits and embrace it, don’t slow down – but keep on track so you achieve what you want to achieve and live your best life possible!
If your gym, or usual exercise classes aren’t operating at the moment, find a solution. Find an online solution and/or talk to your personal trainer about home workouts.
